NORTH SMITHFIELD- Raymond L. Deziel, 84, died Friday, June 21, 2013. He was the beloved husband of R. Marie (Masucci) Deziel to whom he was married 59 years.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Leo and Minnie (Kmiotek) Deziel.
He was a graduate of Woonsocket High School and Providence College. Following high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served with the occupational forces in Japan after World War II. He loved his God and his family, living his life with those values.
He is survived by his devoted children, Christopher J.L. Deziel JD of Elmsford, NY, Paula Marie Desmarais (Steven Manley) and Joan Elizabeth Bissonnette (Marc), all of No. Smithfield; his sister Nancy Errico of Tarrytown, NY; and seven grandchildren, Erica Desmarais, Jenna and Ian Bissonnette, Blaire and Bryce Deziel and Nicole and Monique Deziel. He was predeceased by two sons, Mark Raymond Deziel, PHD and Brian John Deziel, and his sister, Doris Deziel.
His funeral will be held Monday June 24, 2013 at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 1409 Park Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Farm St. Blackstone, MA. Calling hours are Sunday from 4 - 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, an act of kindness in his memory would be appreciated. Memorial contributions may be made to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 N.
