MILLVILLE, MA- Normand "Mike" Marcotte, 80 of Millville, MA passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Yvonne (Plante) Marcotte.
Born in Bellingham, MA on August 31, 1932, he was the son of the late Antonio and Aurore (Barrette) Marcotte.
He was the loving father of Normand A. Marcotte and his wife, Kathleen of Chepachet, RI, David L. Marcotte and his wife, Karen of Pascoag, RI, Rene E. Marcotte and his wife, Donna of Millville, MA, Diane N. McNamara and her husband, Joseph of Chepachet, RI, Denise L. Carroll and her husband, Brian of Millville, MA. He leaves his cherished 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Theresa Dodge of Maine and the late Roger, Clovis and Edgar Marcotte and Pauline O'Hara.
A resident of Millville for 49 years, formerly of Woonsocket and Debary, FL and St. Augustine, FL. Mr. Marcotte owned and operated the Li'l General Store on Harris Ave., Woonsocket for 15 years until retiring in 1987, and previously worked in the dry cleaning business in the local area for many years.
He was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church in Millville and was a member of the Cercle Laurier, Knights of Columbus of Millville, and an active member of the Millville Senior Center. He was a former member of the Millville Lions Club. He was an avid fisherman and card player, and enjoyed traveling. Devoted to his family, he will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 2nd at 9:00AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St. Augustine's Church, 17 Lincoln St., Millville, MA. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are on Monday, July 1st from 5 to 8PM at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
