WOONSOCKET- Elizabeth (Wright) Nealy, 94, of passed away peacefully on Monday, June 24, 2013 at the Friendly Home with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late John L. Nealy.
Born in Cobbtown, GA on March 1, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Susie (Lowry) Wright.
She was the loving mother of Sarah L. Batts of Jacksonville, FL, Albert Waters of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Catherine Eason of Woonsocket, RI, Dora Perry of Woonsocket, RI, Lois Smith of Alexandria, VA, John L. Nealy, Jr. of Woonsocket, RI, Shirley A. Scurry of Woonsocket, RI, Lucious Nealy of Beech Island, SC, Kaloreatha Washington of Woonsocket, RI, Carmel Q. Ellis of Woonsocket, RI, Robert S. Nealy of Providence, RI, Alphonso Nealy of Woonsocket, RI, Machelle McAlpine of Providence, RI, and stepson Bernie C. Williams of Woonsocket, RI, and the late Elouise Nealy. She leaves her cherished 51 grandchildren, 116 great-grandchildren and 69 great-great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Issac Wright of Savannah, GA and four late brothers and four late sisters. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the NAACP, the Missionary Society and the Pastors Aide Ministry of St. James Baptist Church, the Action Committee for Constitution Hill, and was a day care provider for many years and volunteered for many organizations. Devoted to her family, she will be greatly missed.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 2nd at 11:00AM at the St. James Baptist Church, 340 South Main Street, Woonsocket, RI. Interment will follow at the Union Cemetery, No. Smithfield, RI. Visiting hours are on Monday, July 1st from 6 to 9PM at the St. James Baptist Church.
