CUMBERLAND- Walter F. "Tex" Bosse, 91, of Putnam Pike, Smithfield, formerly of Norton Drive, Cumberland passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the Village at Waterman Lake, Smithfield. He was the beloved husband of over 67 years to the late Evelyn (Kling) Bosse.
Born in Batesville, IN, he was the son of the late Clemens Bosse and Ida Gesell Dieckmann.
He was a proud graduate of the University of Texas.
He was an electrical engineer for the Sylvania Co. and later Amperex Co. for many years. He also worked as a stockbroker and for the City of Providence.
He was a member of the Arnold Mills United Methodist Church. He was an avid "birder" and "butterflier", and was a member of the Audubon Society of RI. He has led a number of bird and butterfly walks throughout Rhode Island.
He leaves three daughters, Patricia Coogan of North Providence, Carol Bachman and her husband of Pascoag, and Barbara Kelly and her husband of Tucson, Arizona; one son Richard Bosse and his wife of Purcellville,Virginia; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was the brother of the late Clarence Bosse.
A celebration of his life will be held Monday, July 8th, at 9 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Funeral service will be held at 10 AM in the Arnold Mills United Methodist Church, 690 Nate Whipple Highway, Cumberland. Burial will follow in the Arnold Mills Cemetery. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, July 7th, from 5 to 7 PM.
