BIDDEFORD, ME- Sophie H. (Banas) Wawszkiewicz, 99, a resident of Biddeford, ME., and formerly of No. Smithfield, passed away peacefully on July 5th at the St. Antoine Residence in No. Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Joseph Wawszkiewicz.
Born September 21, 1913 in Blackstone, MA. the daughter of the late John & Helena (Skaza) Banas, she resided in No. Smithfield for many years before moving to Maine. Along with her late husband she was the proprietor of the former Green Meadows Nursery on Mendon Rd., No. Smithfield in which a park & monument was dedicated to the Wawszkiewicz family.
She was the mother of the late Dr. Monica & Dr. Edward Wawszkiewicz She also leaves nieces & nephews.
Relatives & Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, July 10th at 11:00 A.M. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Harris Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
