BLACKSTONE, MA- Dennis J. Cabral, 70, of Blackstone and formerly of Uxbridge passed away Fri. July 12, 2013 in Milford Regional Medical Ctr., Milford with his family by his side.
He was born in Woonsocket, RI in 1942 the son of the late John C. and Lillian Maria (Pacheco) Cabral.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, serving in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years.
Previously a resident of Slatersville, RI, Mr. Cabral was a dispatcher for Stop-n-Shop Supermarkets for over 30 years. After retiring, he spent 5 devoted years as a transport driver for Alternatives Unlimited and was awarded Volunteer of the Year in 2008.
He was a longtime member of the Valley Chapel - Nazarene Church of Uxbridge. He loved music especially recording and playing guitar for the church. He cherished the time spent with his family and friends around the dinner table, both cooking for and playing games with them.
Mr. Cabral is survived by his children, Dawn M. and her husband Raymond Thiebault of Blackstone, Darrell J. Cabral of Hudson, FL, Deanna B. Cabral and her other half Bill Laflamme of Blackstone, and Diana L. and her husband Keenon Hurst, of Sapulpa, OK; a sister Linda and her husband David Thibault of N. Smithfield, RI; 7 grandchildren Samantha and her husband George, Alyssa, Brian and his wife Kristen, James and his wife Alison, Elle, Isla, and Brindal; a great-granddaughter Maliya, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Beatrice Langelier.
Funeral services will be held Thursday July 18, 2013 at 10 AM in the Valley Chapel Nazarene Church of Uxbridge, 130 Douglas St., Rte. 16, Uxbridge, MA. Burial will follow in St. Johns Cemetery, N. Smithfield, RI.
Visiting hours will be Wed. July 17, 2013 from 2 4 and 6 8 PM in the BUMA FUNERAL HOME, 101 N. Main St., Rte. 122, Uxbridge.
