TEMPLETON, MA - Jeannette "Jan" (Theroux) Greeno, 84, of 41 Pheasant Lane in Templeton died July 30th, peacefully in her home, after a brave battle with cancer.
She leaves her daughter Judy Page and husband Raymond of Templeton, with whom she lived; a grandson Jay Andrews of Templeton; a granddaughter Jennifer Shenk and her husband Jay of Westminster; great-grandchildren Abigail, Adam, and Erin Shenk of Westminster, Jay Marshall Shenk of Cambridge, MA, Jane Macdonald and her husband Matthew of Christchurch, New Zealand, Maxwell Shenk of USMC Air Station Cherry Point, NC, Eric Page, Jr. of Gardner, and John-Paul Allard of Gardner; a brother Roland Theroux and his wife, Helene, of Woonsocket, RI; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Jeannette was born in Woonsocket, RI on August 15, 1928, the daughter of the late Romeo and Blanche (Gaudet) Theroux.
She lived much of her life in Woonsocket, RI and Franklin, MA, moving to Templeton nearly 30 years ago. She was a long time member of Fern Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and the Ladies' Auxiliary of the VFW in Franklin. She enjoyed reading, all types of music from opera to country, feeding the birds and she had a green thumb. Jeannette was an avid Red Sox fan, enjoyed horse racing and at one time owned several thoroughbred race horses.
Jeannette was predeceased by her husband Norman Raymond Greeno who died in 2005, and by brothers Joseph Theroux and Leo Theroux.
The family asks that you plant a perennial in Jeannette's memory, to be a remembrance each year. They would also like to express their sincere gratitude for the kindness and care given by the Heywood Hospital Oncology Department; Gardner VNA; Montachusett Home Care; the French Connection; and Dr. Paul Carpentier and staff.
Relatives and friends are planning to honor and celebrate Jeannette's life by gathering for commital prayers in the chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Glenallen St., Winchendon on Wednesday, August 14th, beginning at 11AM. There are no calling hours.
