Cecile G. Tessier
NO. SMITHFIELD- Cecile G. (Goyette) Tessier, 85, a resident of the Villa at St. Antoine, No. Smithfield, died Friday, August 9, 2013 in her home. She was the wife of the late Claude G. Tessier, whom she married February 7, 1948.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Sylvia (Tessier) Goyette.
Cecile was a longtime communicant of St. Joseph's Church, Woonsocket. Her favorite pastimes included playing BINGO, cribbage and scrabble. Cecile will be remembered as a talented knitter and crocheter. Activities with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and close friends were the center of her life, and she always kept in contact with close relatives in Quebec. Cecile was an avid Red Sox fan.
She leaves her thirteen children, Claudette Zanella and her husband Edward of Glendale, Jeannine Simek and her husband James of Uxbridge, MA, Richard Tessier and his wife Audrey of Woonsocket, Diane Tessier Bureau and her husband Yves Bureau of St. Ubald, Quebec, Gabrielle Caron and her husband Normand of Uxbridge, MA, Linda Sutherland and her husband Stephen of Delaware, OH, Gerard Tessier and his wife Crystal of Londonderry, NH, Lionel Tessier and his wife Carla Chase of Providence, Therese Owen and her husband Bobby of Harrisonville, MO, Lucien Tessier and his wife Barbara of No. Smithfield, Celine Bouchard and Bill Ware of Uxbridge, MA, Nicole Allard and her husband Donald of Woonsocket and John Tessier and his wife Christine of Woonsocket; 25 grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and a niece and three nephews. She was predeceased by her sons, Peter and Daniel Tessier, her grandson, Nathan Tessier, two sisters, Rita Gapetz and Muriel Tessier, and her son in law, Brian Bouchard.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2013 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph's Church, 1200 Mendon Rd., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Calling hours are Monday from 5-8 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket.
