CUMBERLAND- Lawrence J. Rochefort, 81, of Cumberland, died Friday, August 9, 2013 in his home. Born in Woonsocket, RI, he was the son of the late Rosario and Sarah (Flanagan) Rochefort. He lived in Woonsocket for most of his life prior to moving to Florida in 2004.
Lawrence was a 1949 graduate of Mt. St. Charles Academy. He was an Air Force veteran, serving in Africa during the Korean War. Lawrence owned Environmental Projects Associates, Inc., Woonsocket, retiring in 1994. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He leaves two sons, Michael Rochefort of Dayville, CT and Thomas Rochefort of Woonsocket; three daughters, Kathleen Courtney and her husband Scott, with whom he lived, Patricia Thibeault and her husband Normand of Dayville, CT, and Elizabeth Gamache and her husband Michael of Woonsocket; a sister, Irene Page of No. Smithfield; twelve grandchildren; one great grandchild; and his former wife, Bernadette Rochefort of Woonsocket. He was predeceased by his brother, Rosario Rochefort.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Charles Church, 190 No. Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Blvd., East Providence, RI 02914.
