WOONSOCKET- Richard A. Morin, 87, of Woonsocket, died Friday, August 9, 2013 in the Friendly Home. He was the husband of Florence J. (Allard) Morin, whom he married May 21, 1955.
Born in Woonsocket, RI, he was the son of the late Aime J. and Adele (Lizotte) Morin.
Richard worked at the Avery Dennsion Company, Framingham for 28 years, spending most of his career in quality control, and retiring as assistant printer in 1991. He was a WWII Navy veteran. Richard was an active member of St. James Episcopal Church, serving as an usher and volunteering at its food bank. He enjoyed golfing and exercising at the YMCA, where he was also a volunteer.
Besides his wife, Florence, he leaves his sister, Claire Lemoine of Woonsocket and several nephews and nieces, including Susan and John Salisbury of Millville, MA. He was predeceased by his son, James T. Morin and his sister, Frances Lariviere.
His funeral will be held Friday August 16, 2013 at 10 AM in St. James Episcopal Church, 24 Hamlet Ave, Woonsocket. Private burial will be at a later date. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. James Food Bank, 24 Hamlet Ave., Woonsocket, RI 02895.
