BURRLLVILLE - Anna (Iwasko) Chaharyn, 97, a resident of Overlook Nursing Home, formerly of St. Paul's St. North Smithfield, R.I., died Sunday August 25, 2013, in the nursing home with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Thomas Chaharyn.
Born in Boston, Ma. daughter of the late Anthony and Maria (Nychay) Iwaska.
Mrs. Chaharyn worked as an assembler for A T Cross prior to retiring.
She was a member of the Easter Star, obtaining the Grand Cross of Color. The Ladies Sodality of St. Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox Church and cooked in the Ukrainian Kitchen for several years.
She is survived by her three daughters, Sandra and her husband George Hreczuck of Hudson, Florida, Paula and her husband Michael Hreczuck, of Burrillville, R.I. and Irene Galuszka, of Warren, R.I. One Sister Olga Rogowski, of Norwood, Ma. Nine grandchildren, and fifteen great- grandchildren. She also was the sister of the late Sophie Karolyshyn, and Joseph Iwasko.
Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9 A.M. from the S.DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket, R. I. with a Service at 10 A.M. in St. Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 74 Harris Ave. Woonsocket, R.I. Burial will be In the Parish Cemetery, Blackstone, Ma. A Ponachida Service will be held on Tuesday at 7:30 P.M. in the Funeral Home, with Fr. Anthony Perkins, Pastor Officiating. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are Tuesday from 5-8 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Restoration Fund of St. Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 74 Harris Ave. Woonsocket, R.I. 02895, in Anna's memory would be appreciated.
