Earl Graham Ledoux
WOONSOCKET- Earl Graham Ledoux 86, of 97 Warwick St. passed away August 28, 2013, at Hospice St. Antoine Residence. Husband of Muriel (Page) Ledoux for 56 years.
Life-long resident of Woonsocket and son of the late Victor and Gertrude (Marrah) Ledoux.
He proudly protected the community for 36 years as a Woonsocket Firefighter.
Affectionately known as the "Big E" he was credited for saving the life of a brother firefighter in 1959 fire at Sears, Main St. Earl, his father, grandfather, uncles, and son all served the City of Woonsocket for a total of 208 years with representation including water, police, and fire departments.
Earl fought for our county in the US Navy aboard the USS Pinkney in Japan during WWII and honorably earned the Victory Medal, American Defense Area Medal, and Asiatic-Pacific Area Medal.
Earl was an honorary member of the Bernon Little League where he had been an umpire for 20 years.
He is survived by a daughter, Nancy Millette and her husband Robert of Blackstone, MA and a son Earl Ledoux of Lincoln, RI and Beth Richmond. Four granddaughters Rebecca Oakland and her husband Brian, Sarah, Lauren, and Rochelle Ledoux, two grandsons Gregory Millette and Maxim Ledoux, a great grandson Dylan Oakland and great granddaughter Camryn Oakland. He was the brother of the late Donald Ledoux.
His funeral will be held Saturday, August 31, 2013, at 10 AM from the Egidio DiPardo and Sons Funeral Home, 75 Harris Ave. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Avenue, Woonsocket. Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 6-8, Friday. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Blackstone, MA. Woonsocket Firefighters will serve as pallbearers.
