NO. SMITHFIELD- Frederick O. Klockars, 89, of No. Smithfield, died September 5, 2013 in The Friendly Home, Woonsocket. He was the husband of Inez (Newsome) Klockars whom he married August 9, 1947.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Carl and Althea (Djurken) Klockars.
A WWII Army Veteran, Mr. Klockars worked as a salesman for Westcott, Slade & Balcom Co. and could often be seen at Village Paint & Decorating, No. Smithfield. He was a charter member of VFW Post 6342, Forestdale, a member of the D.A.V., a member of the Blackstone Valley Amateur Radio Club and a long time member of Slatersville Congregational Church.
Besides his wife, Inez, he is survived by their daughter, Carolyn Waterson and her husband William of Smithfield; their son, Keith Klockars and his wife Connie of No. Smithfield; three grandchildren, Bradley Waterson, Kyle Klockars and Heather-Jean Cardone and eight great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Carl Klockars.
A memorial service will be held Sunday September 29, 2013 at 2 PM in Slatersville Congregational Church, 25 Green St., Slatersville. Burial will be private. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Slatersville Congregational Church, PO Box 808, Slatersville, RI 02876.
