MANVILLE- Rose A. Cournoyer, 96, formerly of Winter St. Manville, died Monday September 9, 2013 at the Holiday in Manville. She was the wife of the late Ronald E. Cournoyer who died in 1987.
Born in Manville, she was a daughter of the late Hormisdas and Aline (Pelletier) Desrosiers. She was a lifelong resident of Manville.
Mrs. Cournoyer was the proprietor of Curley's Spa Variety Store in Manville for over 30 years. She was a longtime communicant of St. James Parish and a member of the Manville Golden Agers. Rose enjoyed dining out, playing bingo and trips to casinos. Rose and her late husband Ronald also had many adventures traveling to various destinations both at home and abroad.
Rose is survived by a son Ronald H. Cournoyer, and his wife Suzanne, and a daughter Diane Coulter, and her husband Bobby, all of Manville. She was the sister of the late Maurice, Levis, Montcalm, and Maurice Desrosiers and Lucienne Horn. She is also survived by three grandchildren Ronald, James and Joanne Cournoyer and four great-grandchildren Beckett, Griffen, Madison, and Miley as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10:00 am in St. James Church, Division St. Manville. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville.
