CRANSTON- Rita R. Wright, R.N., 89, died Sunday, October 31, 2010 at Village House in Newport. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry E. Wright.
Born in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Narcisse and Rosealba (Peloquin) Ducharme, she had lived in Cranston for over fifty years and was a summer resident of Jamestown for many years.
Mrs. Wright was a registered nurse who worked for the State of Rhode Island at the Institute of Mental Health and previously at the state hospital before retiring in 1981.
She was a graduate of the Newport Hospital School of Nursing and a member of the Oaklawn Baptist Church, Cranston where she sang in the choir, served on the Diaconate and was a member of the Womens Group.
She is survived by her daughter Ellen N. Greene and son-in-law Robert Greene of Jamestown and her two grandchildren Kathryn and Kevin Greene. She was the sister of the late Doris Stanteiski, Bernadette Ferriere, Lillian DelSignore, Rustand, Del, Alfred and Roger Ducharme.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at 2:00 PM in Oaklawn Baptist Church, 229 Wilbur Avenue, Cranston. Burial will be private. Donations in her memory may be made to Beacon Hospice/Lighthouse Hospice Foundation, 529 Main Street, Charlestown, MA 02129, to the Oaklawn Baptist Church, 229 Wilbur Ave., Cranston, RI 02920 or to the Pontiac Free Library Association, 101 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick, RI 02886.
