WOONSOCKET- Marie H. (Ritchot) Jodoin, formerly Marie Stewart, 82, of Woonsocket, died Saturday, September 28, 2013 in Morgan Health Center, Johnston.
She was born in Woonsocket to the late Joseph and Laura (Archambeault) Ritchot.
Upon graduating from Woonsocket High School, she began her nurses' training by attending Nursing School in Boston, MA, but left school to marry the late Charles H. Stewart and raise a family. For several years Marie worked as a stitcher for the historic U.S Rubber Co. located on Fairmount St., Woonsocket and later worked as a nurse's aid for Landmark Medical Center. At the age of 40, Marie returned to nursing school in Providence, graduating as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1972 and continued working for Landmark Medical Center until her retirement in 1994. She married the late Joseph R. Jodoin on October 19, 1996.
She leaves behind two sons, Robert Stewart of Sarasota, FL, Paul Stewart of Temple, TX, two daughters, Laura Stewart-Paquin of Woonsocket, Helene Stewart of Cranston, three grandchildren, Lacey Stewart of Albuquerque, NM, Samuel Stewart of Little River Academy, TX, and Melissa Stewart of Cranston, two great grandchildren, Cole and Katy Stewart of Little River Academy, TX. Her family, many friends, Morgan and Beacon Hospice caregivers will miss her great sense of humor, wonderful smile and "feisty" personality.
Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket.
