BURRILLVILLE- Doucette, Louis A., 91, of Oakland, RI, passed away September 30, 2013 at the Overlook Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Pascoag.
He was the loving husband to Jennie (Pulnik) Doucette.
He was born in Oakland, a son of the late Albert & Stacia (Scully) Doucette.
Louis worked in bridge maintenance for the state of RI for twenty years, retiring in 1984. He was WWII US Navy veteran. He was a member of the Burrillville Senior Citizens, American Legion Post #88, Knights of Columbus Council #383 in Pascoag, AARP, and A.F.S.C.M.E. He also loved watching the Boston Red Sox.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Patricia Vanasse and her husband Albert Jr. of Oakland, his son Michael Doucette and his wife Joan of Mystic CT, also his grandchildren, Steven Vanasse of Mapleville, and Jennifer Wood of Ellenboro, NC, and a great granddaughter, Halle Vanasse of Pascoag.
He was preceded in death by, his brother George Doucette and sisters, Gertrude Mowry and Agnes Leclaire.
A funeral Service will be held Thursday at 11am in the Brown Funeral Home, 1496 Victory Hwy., Oakland. Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Pascoag. Calling hours will be prior to the service from 9:30am until 11am.
