FRANKLIN- Marguerite M. (Dytche) Rogers 96, of Franklin, died peacefully, at her home Monday September 30, 2013 with family at her side, following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Forest R. Rogers who died in 1994.
Born in Erie, Pennsylvania on May 17, 1917 a daughter of the late Leo S. and Mayme (ODea) Dytche. Erie, PA was her home town where her family resided, and she attended Academy High School and worked as a bookkeeper during WWII. She moved many times during her lifetime finally residing in Cumberland, RI and in 2006 Franklin, MA.
Marguerite was a devoted wife and mother; she attended the University of Rhode Island in her late 50's studying creative writing and computer operation.
She was an avid artist and poet, who enjoyed creating oil paintings and always had an art class to attend. She was a member of the Franklin Senior Citizens.
Marguerite is survived by a son, Raymond E. "Buck" Rogers and his wife Diane of Medway and their son Christopher R. Rogers of Milford, a daughter Marcia Mullaney of New Hampshire and her children Margo & Eric, two sisters, Ruth Irwin and Donna McCauley and her husband Don of Hemet, California and her dear friends Mark and Gloria DAniello and their families of Franklin.
She was the sister of the late Bob Dytche.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service Thursday Oct. 3rd at 6PM in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin. Interment will take place in Erie, PA.
Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Jimmy Fund 10 Brookline Place West 6th Floor Brookline, MA 02445.
