Armand J. Kuntz
LANCASTER, N.H.- Armand J. Kuntz, 92, of Lancaster, N.H. died August 22, 2013 in Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster, N.H.
He was the husband of Barbara I. (Cunningham) Kuntz whom he married July 14, 1945. She preceded him in death on February 3, 2004.
Born in Blackstone, MA, he was the son of the late Adolph and Mary (Murat) Kuntz.
Armand was a graduate of Blackstone High School, Blackstone, MA. A veteran of World Ward II, as a member of the U.S. Navy, he served on the YP-420 in the South Pacific and on the USS Vesole DD/DDR- 878. He was a machinist for Leighton Machine, Inc. in Manchester, N.H. and after retiring, was employed by the Democrat newspaper press in Lancaster, N.H. Armand was an ardent fisherman who built custom fishing rods, and was published in Rod Crafters Journal as the owner of White Mountain Rods. He hiked the White Mountains Presidential Range over the years accomplishing his last 4,000 foot hike at 78 years of age. Throughout his life he always maintained a beautiful yard and garden.
As a devoted family man, He leaves two daughters, Karen Conley and her husband Douglas of Louisville, KY and Patricia L. Steady and companion William Buck of Lancaster, N.H.; three grandchildren, Vanessa Winter and husband Donald of Celebration, FL; Pearl B. Walker and husband Stephen of London, England, and Patricia Karen Steady of Las Vegas, NV; and two great grandchildren, Stephanie Winter and Paige Walker Pallas. We would also acknowledge Nephews, Nieces and their families, as well as many friends he made over the years who contributed to a full and happy life and rendered comfort when he was ill. He will be remembered for his kind, gentle soul and charming sense of humor.
His funeral will be held Saturday, October 19, 2013 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. in St. Paul's Church, 48 St. Paul St., Blackstone, MA. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, and to acknowledge His great respect for nature and fondness for animals, Memorial Gifts to ASPCA, P.O.
