WOONSOCKET- Raymond W. Richardson, 88, passed away unexpectedly at home on Oct. 15th, he was the loving husband of Rita M. (Robidoux) Richardson,
Born Dec. 20, 1924, he was the son of the late John & Beatrice (O'Neil) Richardson and step son of the late Raymond Trant.
Raymond was employed for over twenty five years for the Woonsocket School Dept. retiring in 1990. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Second World War in the Pacific Theater of Operations stationed onboard the ship: USS Lacerta. He was a first degree member of the Woonsocket Lodge Knights of Columbus, The VFW & American Legion, The Circle Laurier & the Italian Workingman's Club. He was a big fan of the Boston Red Sox & New England Patriots. He was an avid reader of historical fiction and non-fiction books. A loving husband, father & grandfather he took great pride in his family.
Besides his wife, he is survived and will be greatly missed by sons, Alan from Easton, MA. son, Robert & his wife Jacqueline from Burrillville, RI, and son Gary and his wife Martha from Hudson, MA. as well as his grandchildren, Andrew, Bradley, Katherine, Jonathan, Nathan & Steven, also his nieces & nephews, and sisters-in-law Theresa Guilmain & Jeannette (Bisson) Lasalle. He was half brother to the late Fred Richardson, Katherine & Elizabeth and step brother to the late Florence & Margaret.
Relatives & friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, (Oct. 21st) at 11:00 A.M. in St. Charles Boromeo Church, No. Main St. Woonsocket. Burial will take place at a later date.
