Lucien J. Dagesse

HARRISVILLE - Lucien J. Dagesse, 75, of Collins Taft Rd., passed away Saturday in the R.I. Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Muriel A. (Lafond) Dagesse.
Born in Woonsocket he was a son of the late Leonard and Delvica (Breault) Dagesse. He resided in Harrisville for the past 9 years previously living in Woonsocket.
He was the owner of the former Hamlet Diner, for over twenty years until his retirement in 2005.
Mr. Dagesse was a former member of the U. S. Army reserve, he was also an avid golfer and bowler and was a huge Patriots fan. He enjoyed traveling and loved his family and life in general.
He leaves four children, Brian Dagesse of North Providence; James Dagesse of Manville; Lynn Gauvin of Greenville and Renay Shugrue of Harrisville. Mr. Dagesse also leaves a beloved fianc, Barbara Morin of Harrisville. Also surviving are three siblings, Irene Nicholson and Emile Dagesse of North Smithfield and Maurice Dagesse of Brockton. He also leaves eight loving grandchildren. Mr. Dagesse was also the brother of the late Muriel Dansereau, Lionel Dagesse and Florence Ethier.
A celebration of his life will be held Thursday at 8:15 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rte. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, 1200 Mendon Rd., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
