Roger McNamara

PROCTORSVILLE, VT - Roger "Yogi" McNamara. With his family by his side, Yogi died peacefully from complications of the AVM that he had courageously accepted and lived with for 45 years.
He was born to Roger and Margaret (Mulligan) McNamara on October 26, 1948 in Woonsocket, RI. and grew up in Millville Ma. He served in the United States Air Force, graduated from Northeastern University and received his Masters Degree at Antioch University. Yogi moved to Harwich, MA in 1972 where he met and married Theresa (Howard) and became the director of the Harwich Youth Center. They moved to Proctorsville, Vt in 1978. For the last 28 years Roger (as his colleagues know him) was the Guidance Counselor for the River Valley Technical Center.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa; his son, Brendan and wife, Miranda; his daughter, Cathleen McNamara Blanchard and husband, Jamie. He also leaves four beautiful grandchildren, Laura, Emma, Maryn and Connor. Also, his sister, Margi, and brothers Michael and wife Diane and John and wife Sandy and 15 nieces and nephews.
He will also be remembered in the hearts of many relatives and friends too numerous to mention...you all know who you are...
Calling hours will be from 4-7 on Friday, October 25,2013 at The Adams Funeral Home, 12 Meadow Street, Ludlow, Vt.
A funeral mass will take place at 10:00 AM Saturday, the 26th at The Annunciation Church, Depot Street, Ludlow, VT
