NORTH SMITHFIELD- O'Brien, Helen N., 85, of North Smithfield, RI died October 31, 2013, at the Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket.
She was the wife of the late James F. "Obee" O'Brien.
She was born in North Smithfield, a daughter of the late Henry & Alice (Brodeur) Langelier.
Helen worked for the Hot Lunch Program for North Smithfield High School, Woonsocket High School, and the Halliwell School, for many years retiring in 1995. She was a lifelong North Smithfield resident. She was a loving caring mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, the beach, swimming, long drives, and spending time in the Berkshires.
She is survived by three sons, James P. and his wife Cherie of Orlando, FL, John H. and his wife Tracy of Stockbridge, MA and Joseph L. O'Brien of North Smithfield, three daughters, Jane M. Fulasz and her her husband Ed of Foster, Jo-Ann Lussier and her husband Dennis of North Smithfield, and Janice M. O'Brien-Sarracino of Coventry, seven grandchildren, Shane, Kimberly, Jennifer, Kaylee, Matthew, Dean, and Mariah. She is also survived by five great grandchildren, her sister, Janet Sweck, and a brother, Roger Langelier.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jason P. O'Brien, her brother, Norman Langelier and sisters, Doris Bligh, and Connie Beane.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9am from the Egidio DiPardo & Sons Funeral Home, 75 Harris Ave., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Paul's Cemetery in Blackstone. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Calling hours Sunday, 1pm to 4pm and Monday, 4pm to 7pm.
