WOONSOCKET- Denise J. Vachon, 66, of South Main St., died October 31, 2013 in Rhode Island Hospital, Providence.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lillian (Brodeur) Vachon.
Ms. Vachon worked as a nurse for Rhode Island Hospice, retiring in 2010. Prior to her work in hospice care, Denise worked for three years in Saudi Arabia for King Faisal Hospital and had also worked as a Maternity Nurse for Landmark Hospital, Woonsocket. She was a world traveler, enjoyed sailing, summers on Cape Cod and always centered her life around family and friends.
She is survived by her two brothers; Robert Vachon of No. Providence, and Philip Vachon of Redmond, WA; and seven nieces and nephews; Timothy Vachon and his wife Jennifer, Natalie and her companion Ryan Presbrey, Christopher, Sara, Hailey, Ryan and Grant Vachon.
A Service will be held Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 10:00AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St. Woonsocket. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Friday from 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
