NORTH SMITHFIELD- Durand Carole A. 76, resident of North Smithfield, passed away November 2, 2013 at the Landmark Medical Center.
She was born in Portland ME, a daughter of the late Leon & Freda (Grant) Strout.
She worked for the former CD Burnes Co., for many years. Just prior to her retirement, she was employed at Homefront in Woonsocket as a home aid where she assisted the elderly.
She is survived by her children, Mary Ready and her husband Christopher of North Smithfield, Daniel Durand of Harrisville, and Donna Fontaine and her husband Pierre of Harrisville, grandchildren, Eric, Josh, and Brianna Durand, Bryan, and Shawn Ready, Pierre Jr., and Ethan Fontaine. She is also survived by several brothers, and sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 1pm in Keene-Brown Funeral Home 445 Greenville Rd., North Smithfield. Burial will be held in St. John's Cemetery in Slatersville. Calling hours are prior to the service from 12pm until 1pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association 222 Richmond St. Providence RI 02903.
