CUMBERLAND- Glenn Clemons Fearing, 94, formerly of Mayflower Drive, died Sunday November 3, 2013 in Mt. St Rita Health Care Center. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Morton) Fearing who died December 11, 2012. Mr. and Mrs. Fearing were married for 71 years.
Born in Burr Oak, Kansas, he was the son of the late Clarence and Ruth (Clemons) Fearing.
Most of his life he operated the Fearing family farm in Kansas. He was also active in the community serving on the Burr Oak School Board and as a member of the Lion's Club.
When he retired from farming, the Fearings moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas where they began a business, Gifts and Treasures, featuring Glenn's handmade keepsake trunks. After 29 years in Arkansas, they also lived in Texas for 6 years before finally moving to Cumberland, Rhode Island to be with family in 2011.
Mr. Fearing loved hunting and fishing and especially spending time with family. During the last few weeks of his life, his greatest joy was being with his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his two children, Sherry Jean Campanelli and her husband Robert, of Cumberland, R.I., and Karl David Fearing and his wife Donna of Alva, Oklahoma. He is survived by two of his five siblings, Harold E. Fearing of Alabama, and Lauradelle Warne, of Texas as well as four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
He also was the brother of the late Jean Fearing, Beth Alexander, and June Dempsey.
A Memorial Service and Burial will be held in his hometown of Burr Oak, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Glenn's memory to Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 1085 North Main St. Providence, and R.I.02904 and to Mount St. Rita Health Care Center, 2 South Wing, 15 Sumner Brown Rd. Cumberland, R.I.02864, would be appreciated.
