CUMBERLAND- Yvette (Audette) Arnold, 84, of Cumberland passed away on Monday in Oakland Grove Healtcare Center, Woonsocket. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles G. Arnold.
Born in Central Falls, RI, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Eva (Denault) Audette. She resided in Cumberland for over 50 years.
Mrs. Arnold worked as a bank teller in her twenties. Later, with her husband Charles, owned and operated The Friendly Tap, Cumberland for over 30 years. Yvette was well known for her soup and great sandwiches.
She was a communicant of St. John Vianney Church, Cumberland. She was a member of St. Patrick, St. Aidan and St. John Vianney Seniors. She belonged to the Red Hatters for many years. Yvette loved to play bingo and cards.
Besides her late husband, she leaves three children, Charlene Luiz and her husband Jim of Cumberland; Michael Arnold and his wife Linda of Waldorf, MD., Debra Kervin and her husband Mike of Perrysburg, OH. She leaves two sisters Viola Wilson of Virginia and Sr. Muriel Audette of Northboro, MA. She also leaves six grandchildren, Jessica, Sarah, Jimmy, Rob, Charlie and Andrew, as well as one great grandchild, Jack.
A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday at 11 AM in St. John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Calling hours will be held Saturday from 8:30 to 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or a charity of your choice.
