BREAKING NEWS: Woman in crosswalk hit by car

WOONSOCKET – A woman was taken by ambulance to Landmark Medical Center after she was hit by a car while crossing the street in front of City Hall Tuesday afternoon.
Witnesses say the woman was using a crosswalk when she tried to cross Main Street around 3:25 p.m. A woman was driving a BMW heading towards the traffic light when she allegedly hit the woman, described by witnesses as being in her mid-30s.
“This lady was crossing and all of sudden she got hit and dropped to the floor,” said one witness. “She was lying on her side screaming, ‘I’m hurt.”
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. The driver was not injured.
The driver and pedestrian have not been identified and police are investigating.
