BELLINGHAM- Alice (Lytwynic) Kogut, 82, died peacefully at home with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Frank J. Kogut.
Born in Bellingham, daughter of the late Alex and Mary (Bochna) Lytwynic.
Mrs. Kogut worked for Gracious Living in Cumberland, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Tupperware, and as a Computer Operator for Woonsocket City Hall Before retiring.
She was a recording Secretary for the Sisterhood of St. Mary and a member of the Ukrainian Heritage Sub Committee and served as secretary. She also served on the cemetery committee of St. Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox Church. She along with a group of volunteers dedicated many hours preparing ethnic food for the Ukrainian Kitchen. She also worked on the Sub committee for the Museum of Work and Culture.
She enjoyed cooking and baking, and sharing her favorite dishes with family and friends.
Mrs. Kogut was proud of her Ukrainian Heritage.
She is survived by one son Michael and his wife Muriel Kogut of Pascoag, R.I. One daughter Eleanor Kogut which whom she lived. Two grandchildren, Michael and his wife Meghan Kogut, and Stephanie Kogut , both of Pascoag, R.I.
One granddaughter Emma Kogut.
She also was the sister of the late Raymond Lytwynic, Stella Lavoie, and Harriet Grenon.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 A.M. from the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket, with a Service at 10 A.M. in St. Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 74 Harris Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, Blackstone. A Ponachida Service will be held at 7 P.M. on Monday with Fr. Anthony Perkins, Pastor officiating. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are Monday from 4-8 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations in Alice's memory to the Cemetery fund of St. Michael Orthodox Church would be appreciated.
