Paul G. Farrell
BELLINGHAM- Paul G. Farrell, 74, of Bellingham, MA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Briarcliffe Manor in Johnston, RI with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Claire R. (Pincince) Farrell.
Born in Woonsocket, RI on November 22, 1936, he was the son of the late Patrick J. and Mary (Blais) Farrell.
He was the loving father of Patrick J. Farrell and his wife Cynthia of Los Cruces, New Mexico, Aimee A. Larsen and her husband Douglas of Lynchburg, Virginia; and his six cherished grandchildren, Paul, Patrice, Joshua, and Norma Farrell, Stephanie Arnold and Christine Larsen. He was the brother of Anne Theresa Rhodes of Wareham, MA, and the late Francis and Charles Farrell, Gertrude Trahan and Margaret Farrell. He was the former husband of Sylvia A. (Brule) Farrell of Smithfield, RI.
A resident of Bellingham most of his life, formerly of Woonsocket, RI, he was a graduate of Woonsocket High School Class of 1954. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United State Air Force and held rank of Airman First Class. After his military service, he worked for Croteau Machine Shop in Bellingham as a machinist and started working as a part time Patrolman from 1965-1968 for the town of Bellingham and a full time patrolman and detective from 1968 - 1988 until retiring as a detective. During his career he served as a court officer and motorcycle official. He was a graduate of Mass Bay Community College in 1975 receiving his A.S. in Law Enforcement. Paul and Ed "Butch" Fleury established Fairway Maintenance Company of Bellingham, MA together for 17 years until retiring.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, dancing, family, friends and life and will be missed by all.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 15, at 11:00AM at CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, August 14, from 1 to 4PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Inurnment will be held at the R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
