Wayne G. Cousineau
BLACKSTONE- Wayne G. "Chief" Cousineau, 56, of Blackstone, MA passed away peacefully in his sleep unexpectedly at home on Monday, January 30, 2012.
He was the beloved husband of the late Claudette S. (Riel) Cousineau and the late Michelle A. (Roy) Cousineau.
Born in Woonsocket, RI on October 12, 1955, he was the son of Gerard "Chick" Cousineau of Portland, ME and the late Lorraine C. (Stoeklin) Harrington.
He was the loving father of Wayne G. Cousineau, II and his wife Christine, Michelle T. Cousineau all of Blackstone, MA and the late Jennifer L. Cousineau. He was the step-father of Eric Martin of Hampton, NH, Shawn Martin and his wife Sarah of Millville, MA, Dana Kelly and her husband Matthew of Blackstone, MA. He leaves his cherished 10 grandchildren. He was the brother of Michael H. Cousineau and his wife Donna of Lincoln, RI, Donna-Lee Bellerose and her husband Leon of Woonsocket, RI, Lori C. Dessert and her husband Marcel of Newton, NC, and Beth A. Dalpe and her husband William of Rehoboth, MA. He was the son-in-law of the late Emile W. and Lucille T. (Ferland) Riel and Marie L. (Bouley) Gregoire and her husband Roger of Woonsocket, RI and the late Robert R. Roy.
Wayne was a lifelong resident of Blackstone, MA. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Vietnam War Era. He worked at General Motors in Framingham, MA and in 1977 opened Wayne's Small Engine in Blackstone, then in 1990 moved the business to Paine Street in Bellingham. He was a member of the F.O. P. A. Lodge 24 of Rhode Island and had served as a Past President, member of the Millerville Men's Club, and a member of the Knights of Columbus Woonsocket Council 113. Wayne loved to motorcycle, he was devoted to his family and will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Friday, February 3rd at 9:00AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St. Theresa Church,
630 Rathbun St., Blackstone, MA. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are on Thursday, February 2nd from 4 to 8PM at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. To sign guest book visit
