WOONSOCKET- Cecilia A. (Dziob) Kubaska, 88, of Woonsocket and Narragansett, R.I. died on Friday, Nov. 23rd, At Landmark Medical Center. She was the beloved Wife of the late Dr. John T. Kubaska. A lifelong resident of Woonsocket,
Mrs. Kubaska was born on January 1, 1924.
She was the daughter of the late Michael And Antonina (Sabik) Dziob.
Mrs. Kubaska graduated from Woonsocket High School in 1941 and then earned her R.N. degree in 1945 from Children's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. She worked as an operating room nurse at Children's Hospital and was a member of the hospital's nurses' alumnae. Following her marriage to Dr. John Kubaska on May 30, 1950, Mrs. Kubaska retired from nursing and devoted herself to raising her family. She was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish and was past president of the Ladies Rosary Sodality. An avid bridge player she was a member of the Trinity Club and the American Contract Bridge League and loved playing in local bridge groups. She also served as a member of her high school class reunion committee. In addition, Mrs. Kubaska enjoyed skiing, golf and tennis. She is survived by her family, Dr. Robert J. Kubaska and his wife Susan. Dr. Cathy A. Ball and her husband Robert. Mrs. Christine Kalinowski and her husband Robert, Dr. William M. Kubaska and Mrs. Carolyn Vaillancourt and her husband Brian. She was also the loving grandmother of six grandchildren. Mrs. Kubaska is also survived by her brother, Rev. Msgr. Michael W. Dziob, J.C.D., Pastor Emeritus of the former St. Leo the Great Church in Pawtucket, R.I. She was predeceased by her other siblings, Dr. John S. Dziob, Sr.Mary Ardeen O.S.F., Dr. Joseph M. Dziob, Francis E. Dziob, Antonina A. Dziob, and two other sisters who died in infancy and childhood. Her Funeral will be Monday, Nov. 26th, at 9:00 A.M.
From the Kubaska Funeral home, 35 Harris Ave. Woonsocket, R.I. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. celebrated by the Rev. Msgr. Michael W. Dziob in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Harris Ave. Woonsocket, Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited, Visitation hours are this afternoon, (Sunday, Nov. 25th) from 2:00 to 5:30 P.M.
