E. Louise Vose
EASTON- E. Louise Vose, 87, a resident of Easton for 53 years, died Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the LydiaTaft House in Uxbridge after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Irving B. Vose III.
Born in Braintree on February 13, 1926, a daughter of the late Frederick and Ethel (Handy) Trapp, she was raised in Braintree and was a graduate of Braintree High School CLass of 1944. She continue her education at Stratford Business School in Boston graduating in 1947 and attended evening classes at Boston University.
Louise was employed by the Town of Easton as a secretary at Oliver Ames High School in Easton. She was a member of the Massachusetts Association for School Secretaries, receiving a Recognition Award in October of 1975. A past Charter President of the the Jaycee-ettes formed in Easton, she Chaired and helped on many fundraising events.
Louise was a member of the National Corsage Club, a former 4-H Easton Club Leader and was the past President if The Easton Music Parents Organization (T.E.M.P.O.) A member of the Newman Club of Boston she was a recipient of the John Henry Newman Honorary Society Key Award.
Louise served on the Restoration Fundraising Committee at the Immaculate Conception Church in North Easton during the 1960's and was the past President of the Immaculate Conception Women's Guild.
A founding member and longtime communicant of the Holy Cross Church in Easton she was a Sunday School teacher at Holy Cross Church and served as CoChairman of the Holy Cross Catholic Charity Drive for 10years. Louise was the recipient of the Marian Medal Award from the Fall River Diocese in 1979 for her Outstanding Contribution to Parish Life-Dedication and Loyal Services.
She is survived by her four adult children, Robert B. Vose and his wife Denise of Blackstone, John R. Vose and his wife Lucy of Muskego, WI., Barry J. Vose of New Orleans, LA., and Dr. Pauline L. Stamp of Oneonta, NY.; two brothers, Frederick Trapp of Hammond, LA., and Richard Trapp and his wife Wilma of Nashville, TN; seven grandchildren Shauna, Michelle, Shaun, John, Veronica, Samantha and Kasie ; and two great grandchildren, Jordan and Cameron. She was also the sister of the late Virginia Wilkins and Paul Trapp.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton, on Monday at
9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in the Holy Cross Church, Easton, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Visiting hours on Sunday from 5-8 p.m. For directions or condolences visit
