Jean M. Porter
BELLINGHAM- Jean M. (Whitelaw) Porter, 78, of Bellingham died Mon. Nov. 4, 2013 at the Mary Ann Morse Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Natick. She was the wife of the late Thomas Porter.
Mrs. Porter had been employed as an accounting clerk for several retail and manufacturing companies in the area prior to her retirement.
She was born April 12, 1935 in Edinburgh, Scotland the daughter of the late David and Ella (Smith) Whitelaw and had been a resident of Bellingham since 1966.
Mrs. Porter was an active member and Past Chief Daughter of the Daughters of Scotia - Lady Gordon Lodge of Milford. She enjoyed the friendship and fellowship of the Lodge and played the piano and organ at many events. She also enjoyed traveling and visiting with family members throughout this country and the U.K.
Mrs. Porter is survived by two sons; Thomas Porter, Jr. and his wife Daphne of Sugar Hill, GA and Gary Porter and his wife Linda of Milford; 4 grandchildren Olive Porter and Iris Porter both of Sugar Hill, GA and Andrea Porter and Samuel Porter, both of Milford; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws in Scotland, Spain, Norway and England. She was predeceased by her brother David Whitelaw of Glenrothes, Scotland and a grandson Brian M. Fuller from Milford.
Visiting hours will be Fri. Nov 8, 2013 from 4-7 PM in the BUMA-SARGEANT FUNERAL HOME, 42 Congress St., Milford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
